One of a kind fused glass creations

Several years ago I was looking for something fun and creative to do with my spare time. I took a fused glass class from an amazing artist in Boulder and fell in love. Many classes later, many cuttings and many firings later, I’m still in love. Some of my favorite pieces have been total mistakes, while some pieces that I carefully planned & measured & spent hours and hours working on are hiding in a closet. I never know what to expect. Maybe it is my inexperience, maybe it is the magic of glass.
Glass is neither a liquid nor a solid. It’s an amorphous solid, somewhere between the two states of matter. I find that fascinating. I imagine to the scientific mind that’s just a basic fact but for me it adds to the magical sense of glass. Neither one nor the other, but somewhere in between.
